3 days of great live original music featuring local artists & international touring acts.

Cicada Fest was started by local musician Roger Marin, whose career started as the pedal steel player for the Fred Eaglesmith band. Now a songwriter and performer who has three albums of his own under his belt, he tours about 250 days out of the year. Roger wanted to have a festival that could expose Niagara to the great talent that he met and played with on the road and give them a showcase where they could share the stage with local talent. The festival was started in 2007 with the help of family, friends, local music lovers, local musicians, and artists that Roger knew from touring.

The talent that the festival brings into the area is incredible. Cicada Fest has been successful at hosting so many artists that local music lovers would normally not get a chance to experience and local performers would not get a chance to play with. Many of these performers now regularly add this area to their touring schedule.

Now in its sixth year, the festival is 3 days of great live original music featuring local artists & international touring acts. Surrounded by good folk and great music, with local food & wine producers helping to showcase all that the Niagara Region has to offer, and a campground of magical evenings not soon to be forgotten, what could be more fun? Cicada Fest grows more popular every year, but remains an intimate gathering for honest live music. See for yourself why music fans, both local and from afar, enthusiastically return year after year to this little gem of a festival.
